Mr. Nonomaque is president and chief executive officer for VHA Inc.
Prior to being named president and CEO in 2003, Curt was executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. In that role, he was responsible for business operations for VHA, but was also instrumental in the development of numerous VHA initiatives that have led to increased value for the membership, including the creation of Novation and its e-commerce capabilities, the ongoing development of VHA's consulting and purchased services units and the formation of HEALTHvision, an Irving-based Internet company serving the health care industry that VHA formed with outside partners in the late 1990s.
Curt joined VHA in 1986 as a financial analyst with VHA Enterprises and was named assistant treasurer of the subsidiary company in 1987. In August 1989, he was appointed vice president and treasurer for both VHA Inc. and VHA Enterprises. He spent the next two years selling businesses that were connected to VHA Enterprises, helping the company improve its financial position and reduce the losses it absorbed as part of a national managed care venture.
During this time, he also led efforts to restore VHA's business status as cooperative in order to create a tighter bond with member hospitals and to create a vehicle to deliver additional value to members.
Before joining VHA, Curt served as a banking officer for First City Bank in Dallas from 1985 to 1986. From 1983 to 1985, he was a management consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co.
Curt serves on the board of VHA, The VHA Foundation, Novation, Provista LLC and Dallas-based Ascendant Solutions Inc. He is a past board member of HEALTHvision and past president of the board of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Texas and past chairman of the board of AIDS Arms Inc., a local organization that provides case management and medical services to men, women and children who have AIDS or HIV, emphasizing outreach to African American and Hispanic communities. He has also served on the board of the Spanish Colonial Arts Society in Santa Fe, N.M. and the Sage Theatre Group in Taos, N.M.
Curt received a bachelor's degree in biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He also holds a master's degree in business administration from Baylor's Hankamer School of Business.
