Mr. Bowe has served as President, CEO and a Director of Ascendant since 2000. Prior to accepting the position of President in 2000, he also acted as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since September 1999. He currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Dougherty’s Holdings, Inc. and Dougherty’s Pharmacy, Inc.
Mr. Bowe has an extensive background in finance, operations, acquisitions as well as public and private equity investments. He has participated in transactions aggregating over $1 billion in value. He also has participated or led the acquisition, development and operation of a number of portfolio companies; and in that capacity, provided equity capital, management support, strategic direction and functioned as operating management. In addition, Mr. Bowe has considerable restructuring experience and has invested in, or acquired, two companies out of bankruptcy.
Prior to joining Ascendant Solutions, David served as President of a privately held consumer products holding company. Previously, he has held various executive positions at Heartland Capital Partners, L.P., a private equity firm, The Thompson Company, a private investment firm, and Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., a private Wall Street bank.
Mr. Bowe received his BSBA in Finance from Georgetown University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). David has served on the board of directors of numerous public and private companies. He is a member of Vistage International, a worldwide organization serving CEO’s. He is also a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Turnaround Management Association.
